Overnight Shelter

Interfaith Action of Evanston operates the shelter annually from November to April. Due to COVID19, and can safely provide only 20 beds. Beds are assigned to participants of Interfaith Action and Connection’s services. Thank you to the faith communities who are hosting throughout the current season:

Daytime Services

The Hospitality Center

The Hospitality Center operated by Interfaith Action of Evanston is open to people experiencing homelessness.  All will be referred to Connections for the Homeless for an intake.

Location – St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1509 Ridge Ave

Hours – Monday through Friday from 7am to 11am

Winter Weekend Morning Shelter operated by Interfaith Action of Evanston is open to people experiencing homelessness.  All will be referred to Connections for the Homeless for an intake.

Location – Hilda’s Place, 1458 Chicago Avenue

Hours – Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 11am - October through May

Connections for the Homeless

If you are currently homeless, you can access services at Hilda’s Place (1458 Chicago Ave, Evanston) from 9:00am – 11:am and 12:00pm - 2:00pm*, Monday through Friday (*No afternoon sessions on Wednesdays).

The following services are available: Showers, Case Management, Bag Lunches, Clothing Closet, Laundry, Lockers, Food Pantry, Computer and Phone Access, and Haircuts.

If you have a physical handicap or are currently housed, you can access services at our Main Office (2121 Dewey Ave, Evanston) from 9:00am – 11:am and 12:00pm - 2:00pm*, Monday through Friday (*No afternoon sessions on Wednesdays). ​

The following services are available: Showers, Case Management, Bag Lunches, Clothing Closet, and Food Pantry.
